eurgh... when punk bands go politically minded you know they are desperate... i like bands like rage or kinesis who focus their lyrics on it but if a punk band writes a political song such as "franco un-american" by nofx, then you know they are just jumping on the anti-bush bandwagon. if they had the balls to do it years ago then yes, i'd respect them...

Bravo. After september 11th it seemed as is every band in the world started writing political songs, songs that reflected the tragedy of the world. It all seems a bit excessive to me, a good old member of post-generation X. Yes things fuck up. Yes world events happen. But does it really necessitate politics to be in every song? Some political songs, from politically minded bands are good. But when every punk/emo/post-hardcore/nickleback band start doing it it all seems a bit off. Especially when it is still going on today, why cant the past rest?

punk will always be around even if it is only small. i think that it will always or for a very long time in the future have a big oor small hardcore bass of fans who will not let it die. i think one of the reasons that it has declined in popularity is the fact that people seem to enjoy easy listening bands where as alot of punk bands wernt exactly easy on the ears

punk is NOT dead, i refuse to say it is. Dont worry people its just progressing!! and theres nothing wrong with a great genre of music making some pregression and being a stimulus to create other punk genres *punk rok, pop punk etc etc* punk lives on but just in many different ways now \m/ Gina xxx

Punk died when Refsued released "The Shape Of Punk To Come" because, its going to take a fucking amazing mix to beat the best punk album ever released.
Punk was later victim to necrophilia when epitaph merged with burning heart records, bought the rights to "The Shape..." and then re-released it in 5.1 dvd audio.
Refused are Fuckin' Dead.
