I was at Club 85 watching Detwiije and I Like Trains and the DJ there was really rather good, mixing Joy Division with Sisters Of Mercy, Bauhaus with Nirvana, PIxies with some mad drum and bass stuff... it got me thinking, if this guy could do it, most people could. So does anyone know of any good remixes floating around the web?
I once planned to mix Yourcodenameis:milo - 'All Roads To Fault' with Dexy's Midnight Runners - 'Come On Eileen', as they both have build up tempo change bits... I'm too lazy to do it. I did a mix of Hope Of The States with Winston Churchill's 'We Shall Fight Them On The Beaches' speech, I didn't alter the song that much though - I don't have the software to pull it off. But it sounded alright....

or not! whats the point in taking two songs and mixing them together? it is stupid, using samples from songs is ok coz at least they are still using creativity to make a drum beat or whatever, but these "remixes" just prove that some wanker is sad enough to sit down and count out the ammount of beats in one song and match it to another, then wank about with it for a few hours. no creativity whatsoever, just pure shite.
